Bilingual Social Worker (Spanish/English)

• Geographic location: Newark-Essex/Hudson Counties
• Enjoy being on the road and not in an office all day!
• $60-$65,000 annually ($60k Bachelor's and $65k Master's)
• Schedule: Monday-Friday days (flexibility required for early evening hours)
• On-call participation required
• Caseload: 5-6 clients, ages 12-17
• Frequency of client visits: 3-4 sessions per week
• Mileage reimbursement: $.62/mile

This program is targeted to help at-risk youth (ages of 12-17) become healthy and productive citizens. Youth are referred by child welfare, juvenile services, or the criminal justice system, to addresses a history of destructive behaviors, substance abuse, and/or gang related involvement. Therapy focuses on building an effective support network of individuals to positively impact youth and their families. An evidence-based model is utilized to address diagnosis, including ODD, conduct, bipolar disorders, and self-harm.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide direct clinical treatment using the MST treatment model and principles. Some principles include leveraging strengths and focusing on the positive, understanding sequences of behavior, and increasing mature behavior.
• Conduct a thorough assessment of the client and family by obtaining information on behaviors of concern and strengths in the family.
• Continuously work to engage the primary caregiver, family members, supports, and community agency staff in change-oriented treatment.
• Dedicate time to weekly case planning and evaluation of case progress, with ongoing support from your supervisor and team members.
• Insure that clients have access to 24 hours/day, 7 days/week support as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Services or related field
• Two (2) years of work experience in social work or clinical treatment preferred
• Valid driver’s license/insurance and ability to travel to clients up to 75% of the time. Must be open to transporting families as needed.
• Must live within 30-45 minutes travel time from the designated service area.
• Covid-19 Vaccination or negative test result required prior to start.
